Description of workshop

Throughout the history of flower cultivation, the tulip has had the greatest impact of all flowering species. Following its discovery in Turkey in the 16th century, a frenzy termed Tulipomania gripped Europe.

Join Margaret and take a step back in time to discover how these colourful, sculptural flowers have inspired famous artists since the 1600's. Enjoy a presentation on the styles of artists' depictions of tulips ranging from traditional to contemporary.

You will be free to explore any aspect of a botanically accurate tulip study in your preferred medium of coloured pencil or watercolour.
